Inaugural Ball 2016

The Inspire Ball, Gorton Monastery

Our first biannual Ball was held on 6th February, 2016 at the Gorton Monastery.

Over 230 people listened, danced and pledged to do good faster, sponsored by gunnercooke and Santander. This is not a fundraiser, but an opportunity to celebrate philanthropy and to encourage business people to give their time and skills so that together we can change the world. On 7th February, it meant we have over 20 new mentors, over 50 new volunteers and numerous in kind and time based pledges from our wonderful attendees.

Zara Khalique was named Future Leader of the Year, with Duncan McCombe as runner up.
David Sanderson, CEO of The Rank Foundation, was our inaugural Hall of Famer.

We heard from the beneficiaries of RECLAIM Project that their aspirations were to lead the world ……and being born in Gorton shouldn’t be a barrier to that

We heard from Street Soccer and LIFE+FIT that it is possible, with commitment, resilience, belief and love, to pull people back from the abyss of depression, homelessness and suicide and create lives with relationships, homes and jobs

We didnt have time to hear from our other 21 ambitious charities about the way they are changing young people’s lives, small people’s lives, refugees lives, spreading joy with older people, providing comfort and support at the most critical times…..at our 2018 Ball we will do this!
